60 killed as church collapses in Uyo

A church building in Uyo, the capital of Akwa Ibom state in southern Nigeria collapses as 60 casualties have been removed from the Debris of the collapsed building........



According to one of the officials among the rescue team said. "We are doing all it takes to bring out all the victims trapped underneath the collapsed building" ..

He also said that the rescue team is made up of workers of Julius Berger construction company, the Police, Army, Nigeria security and Civil Defense Corpse, fire service, Nigeria Medical Association and Federal Road Safety Corpse.

Hence, the police spokesperson Cordelia Nwawe said, "the exact number of casualties cannot be given as the rescue operation is still on". ...
